Added a new piece to both the RESTORATION
and DISPLAY galleries. TSD provided
stabilization and a custom display head with an
acrylic stand and base. The use of fabric which closely matched the original piece’s skin tones helped create the impression of a complete mask without drastic patching and repainting.

Added photos documenting the extensive foam latex restoration of an original mask screen used in both “Star Wars, the Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi.”

Earlier today, Stuart Freeborn was presented with one of the ewoks I had the privilege of working on.
I’ve now handled a few of these and each one is unique. Stuart’s team created a wide variety of sculpts for the faces and ears. All of the parts
used (fur, eyes, foam face & ears, etc) were created by Freeborn’s team for the production of Return of the Jedi back in 1983. The pieces were then trimmed, patched, painted and furred by me, over 20 years later!
I’m honored to know that something I’ve worked on is in such a good home.
Thank you to Tim over at www.propstore.com
for taking the photo!
