Rambo Knife Movie Prop Display
A themed display and custom acrylic display case for an autographed, screen used Rambo knife from Rambo: First Blood Part II.
A one-of-a-kind themed display for this Rambo knife autographed by Rambo himself, the one and only Sylvester Stallone. For this movie prop display we started with the background photo from the film, which served as our inspiration. The base was created with a mix of wood and hand carved EPS foam to create the rock textures. We also added in custom carved cradles to support the prop knife.
With the basic shapes created, we moved on to the coating, which gave the foam stability as well as extra texture. We used several layers of paint washes and colors to create a realistic finish which matches the rocks in the background photo. In order to protect the prop knife while it was sitting in the cradle, we lined any contact areas with soft fabric.
We finished off this amazing display by printing the inspiration photo and attaching it to the back of the acrylic case. We also added a custom designed and printed metal plaque. The end result gives a bit of context to the Rambo knife display, instantly bringing the scenes from the movie to mind.
