San Diego Comic Con 2016

While most of our crew was at our New York studio, TSD still had a presence at San Diego Comic Con!

San Diego Comic Con is the ultimate movie and comic fan event and we were glad to have some of our work showcased at the convention… and to help with a very special display! At the Sideshow Collectibles booth, they showed the licensed, life-sized Boba Fett Statue from The Empire Strikes Back which our company prototyped.  Rebelscum.com was on the scene and snapped a pic of the piece and many others – don’t miss their gallery here.

Our friends at Anovos, who create amazing licensed Star Wars costumes (and others) asked us to make a custom David Prowse sized mannequin to display their incredible Darth Vader costume. Photos show the 6′ 7″ mannequin, made in ultra heavy duty fiberglass with bendable arms and hands for some pose ability with stability.  With their costume on our custom body form, it’s an intimidating life-sized figure for sure!

We were, however, most honored to be asked to assist Lucasfilm with their display of original costumes from Rogue One, A Star Wars Story. Rob Klein assisted Lucasfilm’s Madlyn Burkert in setting up a mix of heroes, villains and even an alien from the new Star Wars movie due out in December. We were thrilled to help and the display drew in thousands of fans!  Rebelscum has a great gallery here.
