Don’t Lose Your Head! A custom mannequin for the Headless Horseman costume from the Fox Sleepy Hollow TV Series
This original, screen-worn Headless Horseman costume from the Sleepy Hollow TV series featured many layers and authentically crafted revolutionary war era garments. Our client also had a pair of original show-used weapons to incorporate into the display.
Our lead fabricator, Pierre Briel, customized a fiberglass body form to create the mannequin for this display. It was customized to fit the original TV costume and support the uniform with the proper fit and drape. So that we could maintain the original costume, a back post was used to support this display. A black pipe connects the base to the back of the figure, sneaking underneath the shirt and cloak.
The hands were made so that they could safely hold the prop weapons. This one holds a prop axe in one hand a sword in another… an intense and intimidating look! A custom wood plank base was completed Patrick Louie, to give the display a grounding element and a touch of era-appropriate theming.
