The Wolfman - Life Size Movie Costume Display
The Wolfman
It's a great day when you can work on an Oscar-winning costume! The makeup effects team on 2010's The Wolfman (led by Rick Baker and Dave Elsey) won the Oscar for best achievement in makeup for their work on the film.
The costume itself is a work of art and the client felt that the main character of the film deserved the ultimate display.
We were provided -
- the tattered Benicio Del Toro wardrobe
-a fur and foam muscle body suit with hands, worn in stunt scenes
Tom Spina Designs created-
- the custom mannequin
- the claws
- the feet (hand punching each hair)
Gotham FX created -
-the hyper-realistic silicone head

Costume elements used in the film - tattered wardrobe worn by Benicio Del Toro and an incredible hair and muscle body suit with hands.
We knew from the beginning that this project would require a hyper-realistic silicone head. Our old friend Rich Krusell of Gotham FX got started right away...
Starting to piece together the elements - the custom mannequin is dressed with test castings of the feet and head.
Special thanks to Rick Baker, Dave Elsey, Mike Hill and the rest of the talented crew on the Wolfman 2010 for their amazing work and all the inspiration!

We sculpted custom werewolf feet for the display. Hand punching each hair one at a time was required to blend in with the quality of the incredible screen used costume
New claws were sculpted and Lonnie Hale cast them in translucent two-tone material... these would complete the hands and feet
The completed feet, fully haired and awaiting final mounting to the figure!

One last test-fit before the finishing touches!
