BOBA RECALL
A tribute to classic practical movie FX!
We were honored to be asked to be a part of the Dented Helmet's "As You Wish Project", an art show and auction which raised over $135,000 for the Make a Wish Foundation!
Our entry was envisioned as a tribute to the amazing work of Rob Bottin on the film Total Recall (the original Schwarzenegger version).
We've always loved the classic "head split" effect and thought it would be very cool to give Boba the same treatment.
It was a lot of work, but a lot of fun and all for a great cause!

Our inspiration, Rob Bottin's amazing FX work from the
sci-fi classic Total Recall
All artists on the project were provided a plain, unpainted Boba Fett helmet like the above
We promptly cut ours into pieces!
The little details are always important... we added our logo in Boba's rangefinder as a little "easter (island) egg"
We also got a lifecast of Arnold Schwarzenegger and finished it as a realistic bust with paint, glass eyes and hair
Speaking of details, the paint scheme for the helmet was a challenge unto itself, with layers and layers of weathering
