Spider-Man Hanging Custom Mannequin

We generally work with screen-used costumes that were worn in the films we love. Sometimes, we have a client with a cosplay costume that they want to display. In this case, our client wanted Spider-Man hanging from the ceiling for his display. He sent some inspiration photos and the costume and our team fabricated a body to capture his vision.

The exaggerated and dynamic pose was a real challenge.  A standard mannequin couldn’t do this! And with a skin-tight suit like a Spidey costume, a custom body form from a team like ours is the only way to go. Our artists can custom-tailor the size and proportions to ideally fit each individual costume perfectly.

Secure display is also important and a hidden cable extends from the figure’s wrist, through the costume and to a hanging mount. The body also needed to be weighted carefully to hang at the proper angle. Certain break-down of the body form like removable legs had to be considered to allow the rigid mannequin into the spandex Spider-man suit that had limited access points.

Pierre Briel, our lead fabricator, built the body with fiberglass elements. The body was posed to the very unique style and included welded reinforcement. The proportions and muscles were carefully sculpted to capture the proper lean look and to fill out the tight-fitting costume nicely.
